Something very analogous happenedin my life.And I am convincing myself – Now this is not the end.It is not even the beginning of the end .But it is perhaps,the end of the beginning.
UGh! Dunno why , I am just not feeling good . After spending 7000 a month, managing to get good grades , Winning sufficient accolades for my participation in my collage tech fest , nd yeah .. getting through preliminary levels in Code Jam ’06 … At the end of the day I am just not happy . dunno why ….
came to an end today. Well ,after searching almost every bit of theworldwideweb , I finally GOT all the solutions of Google code champ , Something I so easily (read brilliantly !) won last semester . It was tougher this time , especially when I had so high expectations from myself . After tolling and crawling for really looong hours over the internet , I did discover LOT of discrepencies in the way Google indexes web pages , so it wasnt just about winning just-another-collage contest .
Well , for those who dont know , the contest was all about entering the smallest string in the google search space to get a particular site as the top result . Some of the sites were :-

Yeah , the catch was you CANNOT type in the exact or even a part of the URL assigned . I admit these are not the perfect solutions ; you can actually get better results . Now take a look at these :-

It was astonishing why google doesnt list itself as the top entry when you search it for”search engine” on google.co.in .It rather lists altavista.com above itself . Which made my job all the more tough , since I was to search for strings on google.com .
Anyway , it culminated in a much expected and much *needed* success after so much of advance publicity . I am glad ;D
TechTatva Starts on Wednesday . And I am looking forward to the coding events.Sleeping Shiv and me are thinking of putting up a model in the exposition event.Lot of things of mind..hmmmm..
